Annex I Workshop on Communications & Control and 6th ExCo Meeting, Visby, Gotland , Sweden, 5th-7th May 2009
Experts and National Delegates from 12 countries met in the historic city of Visby, Gotland, Sweden, 5th - 7th May, for ENARD’s Spring 2009 meetings programme. This comprised a highly topical Annex I Workshop on the subject of Communications and Control, followed by the convening of the 6th ENARD ExCo meeting.
The Annex I Workshop received a series of expert presentations covering ICT infra-structures, architectures and sensor requirements, emergency communications and with a final session addressing the application of such matters in practice. Extensive discussion and working group dialogue allowed for key messages to be abstracted from the Workshop, for the consideration of the ExCo, at its follow-on meeting.
The 6th ExCo Meeting covered the ongoing development and discharge of the Implementing Agreement as a whole, with particular highlights since the previous Meeting including France joining the Implementing Agreement, as the 13th Member country, January 2009 and the start-of-work on Annex IV, April 2009.
The meetings programme concluded with a technical visit to “Gotlight”; the world’s first HVDC-Light connection and the wind power cluster which it serves.
