ENARD Spring Meetings held Chester, UK, 14th-16th April 2008
ENARD Spring meetings programme was held Monday 14th to Wednesday 16th April 2008 at EA Technology's offices, Capenhurst, near Chester, UK.
The meetings started with a highly topical Annex I Workshop on Intelligent Distribution Networks, MicroGrids and Active Network Management, attended by over 40 delegates from 14 countries. Expert presentations were received in relation to various aspects of active network management, in the context of meeting the very considerable challenges associated with incorporating predicted significant growths, in renewables developments. The workshop itself succeeded in stimulating dialogue and discussion and informing a very useful input to ENARD Annex II, DG System Integration. A technical visit followed to the Dinorwig Pumped Storage Facility in North Wales, Tuesday afternoon 15th April, prior to the convening of the fourth ExCo meeting Wednesday 16th April. The ExCo was very pleased to receive notification of US DOE's formal acceptance of the ExCo's previous invitation for the United States to join the ENARD Implementing Agreement.
